NCDS: Dave Wojcik, Assoc. Head Coach - Boise State

With the conference tournament less than a month away and our conference in a tight race, it is so important to continue to find ways to win.  After a tough stretch that had more losses then wins and coming off our toughest defeat of the year to Utah State it was time to mix things up a little.

If we wanted to make the most of the rest of season we needed to make some changes.  We needed to move on and put the losses behind us.

Even know it is late in the season we decided to make every aspect of practice a competition; even our drills.  We shortened practice; making it more efficient and more enticing. We found ourselves actually having three of the best practices we have had all year.

The next step was to see if this energy would carry over to our next home game.  Fortunately it did and we were able to beat Fresno State by double digits. This win set the stage for our rival game against Idaho.  With the biggest crowd of over 12,000 at Taco Bell Arena in the past few years and the energy high, our kids came ready to play, fought hard, made big plays and came away with the win.  It was truly a team effort and so well deserved after the week of practice we had.

It is nice when hard work, perseverance and great attitudes are rewarded.  We are so proud of how the team has responded and are going to continue to battle each day.  It is going to be interesting down the stretch. With a little more than three weeks left in the regular season we have the opportunity to finish in the top four giving us a bye in the WAC tournament.  We have plenty to play for and our seniors are excited for the chance to leave their mark on the Boise State program.

Stay Tuned and Go Broncos!
