NCDS: Rob Lanier, Asst. Coach - Florida ("Improved Defense")
We are now 10 games into conference play. You often hear the phrase: "It's a marathon, not a sprint" when coaches are referring to the grind of a college basketball season. It happens to be true and is never more evident than in conference play.

It's Thursday January 6th. I'm on the road recruiting for the 3rd consecutive day. We last played this past Monday against a talented and scrappy Rhode Island team and our next game is this coming Saturday at home vs Ole Miss in our SEC opener. We are three games (Stetson, Georgia Southern, Troy) into our regular season and we are clearly a team in the process of establishing an identity. Billy Donovan coached teams have generally been prolific offensive teams. The past two seasons we've ranked at the top of the SEC in virtually every offensive category. The problem has been that we ranked at the bottom of the league in every defensive and rebounding area.
