At the beginning of this season, Head Coach Greg Kampe posed a question to our team…can you finish? It became the theme for our season.

As we get ready for the stretch run, this is the time of year when practices can get boring, teams can lose focus, and fatigue can become a major factor if you are not taking care of yourself properly by eating right, getting plenty of fluids, and getting rest. Traditionally under Coach Greg Kampe, Oakland University has been an outstanding basketball team in the month of February.

After what appears to be a successful surgery, I am finally back with our team. It's been a long five weeks. I hope to be able to fly again soon and return to actually being on the floor in the very near future. Currently, I am watching practice from behind the scorer's table and watching our home games from the same location. The good news is the doctors say I am extremely healthy and now that the back surgery is complete, I should be 100% soon.

NCDS: Jeff Tungate, Assoc. Head Coach - Oakland (Thanksgiving)
Thanksgiving is always a special time of year. As a basketball coach or player, seldom do you get to spend time with your family on Thanksgiving. You are often travelling to a holiday tournament or practicing for an upcoming opponent. This season, our schedule allowed our players, coaches, and staff the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with their families.

What an exciting time of year! With practice well underway, this is one of my favorite times of the year. We can work with our players 20 hours each week, catch a football game on TV, watch the World Series if time permits, and work extremely hard toward hanging another banner in the O'Rena.
