• Murphy enters his second season with the Rams as an
assistant coach after having cut his teeth in the ACC for four
seasons under Al Skinner as Director of Basketball Operations at
Boston College.
• During his playing days at Rhode Island, Murphy teamed with
Tyson Wheeler, Cuttino Mobley and Antonio Reynolds-Dean to lead the
Rams to an Elite Eight appearance in 1998, knocking off the top
seed Kansas Jayhawks in the process.
• A native of Saginaw, Michigan, Murphy will be heavily
involved in both recruiting and player development at URI.
